Introduction
Our users consistently highlight Co's organizational features as a standout advantage of the platform.
While other AI platforms limit users to starting new threads, Co empowers users with spaces, channels, and direct conversations. This flexibility provides more control over AI interactions. We believe that's critical because AI is a general technology applicable to countless tasks.
We wanted to push our organizational features further and give users more tools to manage AI conversations. That's why we've launched a new feature: conversation forking.
Forking
In programming parlance, a fork is a copy of a repository. In the context of Co, a fork is a copy of a conversation.
When you fork a conversation, you generate a new version containing all content from the original up to your chosen fork point. You can then continue along this new path without changing the original thread. This lets you explore different ideas while preserving your conversation history.
How to Fork a Conversation
Forking is simple:
- During an AI conversation, hover over the message you want to use as your fork point (everything before this message transfers to your fork)
- Click the fork icon that appears in the bottom right corner of the message
- Continue your exploration in this new branch while keeping the original intact
Try Co's forking feature today and share your experience with us!
